Auto UP window goes up, then back down?

I have a 99 4 runner that was involved in a collision. It was fixed and looks great, but the auto UP window button takes the window up and then back down half way. I think it is an adjustment problem with a sensor telling the motor where the window is, but I have not had the door panel off and want to know how it works before I tear into it. The body shop had to reskin the door, so that would be the cause of the window to go haywire, everything else works as it should. Can anyone help me?

Mine does that as well after replacing passanger side window. Maybe I ought to talk to one of the guys at Toyota. I keep thinking I probably need to have them reset the window relay timer or something..

try this, roll the window down but hold the button down also until it gets all the way down, then roll it back up the same way-hold the button in the up position until the window is all the way up,it may need to be reinitialized

Does the window go down about half way then stop? If so, it could be the Auto-Up Safety sensor. While in Auto-Up, if the sensor detects sufficient resistance while closing, it will automatically reverse and open the window about 1/2 to 2/3 to prevent injury and/or damage. (Safety feature.)

does the window goes up w/o using the auto? if it does, id suspect the switch itself.

my auto up feature does go back down about a half way. I think I should check the window track. the only thing that doesnt work is the auto up feature. I can roll it up all the way using the traditional up feature. I think the thief pryed through the window track/frame to break into my truck. track may have been damaged/bent. Thanks for the idea an i'll go ahead and check tonight.
