Auto transmission issues.

Over the past 2 months I have had some transmission problems. Once the truck has been sitting for awhile I start it up and drive off, the transmission wont shift into 3rd until I have driven it about a mil, then it starts shifting. Any ideas am I screwed.

No, you are not screwed.
You might consider a tranny flush and see how that changes things (if you use synth fluid it will help further).

This is normal actually, you may not have noticed it before. It will not shift to its top gears until the tranny has warmed up. There was a thread about this a while back stating the reason for this. You might want to try a search.

If it's a 4 speed auto it should shift into 3rd at any temperature. It's 4th (overdrive) that will be delayed until the engine warms up.
