A340's
what is VSS and TCM ? TPS is throttle position sensor correct ? Thanks .
Had 3 shops tell me a minimum of 3 grand for a rebuild and that was best case senerio and nothing major was wrong with it .
the rear diff has a metal on metal sound when you turn the yoke , noticed it when doing u-joints last week , pinion seemed kinda loose to me .

TCM- trans. control module, basically the computer that shifts the transmission. Not sure if it's a seperate unit on that new of a Toy but the old ones were different than the ECM(engine control module).
I'm saying it's sounds electrical related. If was mechanical it would probably be slipping and not even wanting to shift manually. IMHO

I don't think the A340F tranny has a TCM, I think it's just controlled with the ECM, but I'm no tranny expert.

Pretty sure it is not electrical seeing how i have no cel coming on . I think it is just a hunk of junk all together . Nothing but bad luck and have to replace or fix something on it EVERY week ..

Its electrical. Trust me.
Also, a CEL doesn't have to come on. It can be simply stored. Have you pulled codes with a scanner? I will put money on the solenoids or a TPS being out of adjustment. With the mileage you have on the car, I would do the solenoids as well. There is a link in the below write-up that I did that has a cheap source for solenoids for the tranny. IIRC they are around $130 for all three solenoids.
