auto tranny body lift

is there a difference when installing a 1-2 inch body lift between an auto and standard tranny on 2nd gen 4runner?

I don't believe so but you can check out Roger Brown's site for particular info...there's also a handy search button on the blue bar up top you can use.

Rule of thumb is that automatic 2nd gen.'s cannot be body-lifted b/c the tranny linkage is not adjustable.

However, this website offers a custom drop-bracket kit for certain set ups, making the body-lift possible, up to 3 inches:

Read up on it...

The biggest body lift I would ever think about doing would be 2 inches...3 inches just seems that it would be unstable and pointless. I did a 1" on my old 2nd gen and that was good enough, the linkage did fine but 2" would have been a little more difficult.

I will probably end up doing a 1" body lift on my 3rd gen here soon...and of course, Rober Brown is where its at!

Keep in mind a recent article in a 4x4 mag suggested to never go higher than a 1" BL.
