Question auto power window switch mod for 97 runner

I was just riding in my friends 2k runner ltd and he has auto window switches for the passenger windows. It's auto up and down. On my 97 ltd I have one auto switch for the drivers side window and it only is auto for down. It won't auto up. Will the switches from a newer model runner work in say the 97? I'd like to be able to control the passenger side window with an auto switch. Has anyone done this?

It is not an easy task. I am trying to do the same thing as you do. You would need a new control switch from the newer 4runner and a new whole wire harness, and a new window regulator to do a direct plug and play application. It would be very costly unless you can get those part cheap or free. A cheap wa to do it is to add a clifford or viper alarm and install the auto up/down 530t window controller and you will have auto up/down feature cover for both front window.
