Currently they are cranked down as low as they can go. I was supposed to install my OME shocks and springs last weekend, but got busy with other projects. Looks like today is out.... just looked outside and it's raining...... Oh' well...... Yes it's about 2" higher in the front, the rear has stock HD set-up..

I attached a picture to show CV angle....

Have you done the diff drop yet? Also, what's the maximum height that TC recommends cranking them up to? Also, with the new fiberglass fenders will 35x12.50's fit now without rubbing?

Yes I did the diff drop, and I have no plans on running anything larger than 33", due to the fact that the drivetrain can't handle it, but we'll see..... Total Chaos recommended 33" max...... I'm not concerned with rubbing against the fender as much as the inner wheel well.......

Well that stinks. I wonder why they recommend nothing larger than 33's? The only place I rub is the frame, but I'm sure these a-arms would fix them. But, I've also done some major fender pounding/trimming. There are people running 35's with the stock rear axle, but I'm not sure if anyone's running 35's with the stock or modified a-arms.

You can run 35", but the 7.5" diff is what I'd worry about more that the rubbing issue. The IFS driveline ain't that strong. I've seen plenty that have 35's....

nice rig Bruce
I cant wait to see it!
It look's like you have a lot of stuff that i have too. what part of so cal are you from ? Im from s.d. or Escondido 92025.
we need to hook up and wheel! I got a new dirt bike so i have been riding more then wheeling. I need to blow the dust off the rig and go before there is too much snow up in big bear. We also go to the hammers, los coyotes, borrago, oct wells,Rubicon, moab and some day maybe Martinaz? in AZ (hint hint)

Your rig will do real good! I go fast or slow and it works good. I dont go as fast as some ford rangers in the desert but my rig seats 4! and it works really good up in the rocks too. The only thing i might someday add would be a MC09. I would like to make someone else work the bugs out.(Steve 44runner)
any more crawl than that then i would need a rock buggy.
I might also do a full cage. Thats why i dont Haul the mail in the desert. If it would go over it would sux.

If you need help just ask.

We need to work on getting them fenders painted !

What's your total travel in the rear now? How much more than a OME setup is it? Any gas tank trouble?

Another thing that really bothers me about all this long travel stuff is that although you gain IFS travel, you still have the small 7.5" front diff and weaker style axle shafts.

The reason I would invest in the front end would be to gain strength. Be that a Toy solid axle or a Dana 44.
Come on Steve. You have "invested" more in the front end than anyone on this board. This is also the second time I have seen you hint that you might be considering a SAS. Just do it, what are you afraid of aside from sick travel and stronger components? Sure you have stated in the past that you would never do it, but you contradict yourself all the time, we are used to it by now. Quit beating around the bush and fire up the torch...

When I was on the phone with Marlin's shop, they said it would be no problem putting the MC09 in the 3.4L with auto or stick.

I still need to do some fitting before I can get the fenders painted, once my front bumper shows up, I'll have to take it apart. My powder coater is gonna color match it to my ride, I like the Sahara bumper, but not the chrome hoop......

Sounds like a simple t-case problem that has nothing to do with his particular setup. Old yota t-cases are just about as simple as they come. There is not much that can go wrong short of bearings or major breakage. My works like a charm, 1st time, everytime...

I have a 5sp. The MC09 fits the autos too. I believe the manual and auto are the same length from bellhousing to t-case. The manual in my truck is the longest freakin manual I have ever laid eyes on. I think there must be a bunch of dead space there so they could make it the same length so they wouldn't have to change much between the too trucks...

That's some pretty sick flex, and I'm checking a couple shots of mine to see the difference. I'll post a couple of mine so we can see the difference, and I'm pretty sure yours is better.

I don't know if I ever told you but I'm doing a similar rear bumper setup as you have, but here's some pics of similar flex shots of mine with OME's in the rear:

Chris

P.S. I have some more somewhere, but I've got to find them.
