ATF - To Flush or Not to Flush. That is the question.

I thought that I had my mind made up to get my ATF fluid flushed after reading this and hearing so many people advise it. But after I had this conversation with a mechanic (http://goo.gl/NS3Kz) I'm not sure, now.

What do you guys think?

I would agree with him.

Get new fluid in there, and get it cleaned out, THEN you can have it flushed at a later date. Though, honestly, flushing a transmission is an expensive waste of money IMHO. A drain and refill will work perfect. And the "filter" isn't even really a filter, its merely a screen. That can be cleaned and reinstalled.
