It's all good and I like it but I've got a hard on for the ARB right now. The 17 is slim and simple which I like.

Ok well I'm liking what I see so far mainly from dragr1's sale listing and doubledown's current rig, I guess I could almost cover the cost totally if I sell a set of wheels too.

aaron check out the first pic in axelike's post, how can you convince yourself that even comes close to matching a 3rd gen. so what it may set better than the taco with ltd flares but damn man that thing looks like it hit puberty and the rest of the truck is trailing. all in all, i would say arb over tjm structurally, but i have yet to see one look really good on ours.....taco bars have every inch of structural durability as the prado........try and invent some frame spacers to widen the body. actually, regardless of the prado a wide bodied 3rd gen would look sick if it was high enough

I kinda like the fact it is wide like that kinda like that. Easy mounting. I dunno why I like it so much I just do. So the more I think about it the more I'm like damn I need to sell this and this, I dunno.

Prado with Flares. It protects the flares nicely.

Yup, you better get on Steve's list to call/email when he gets them in...first come first serve.

He said it'd be October-ish before any more came in.

taco bar... i had the choice between a prado bar and a taco bar, the prado bar sticking past the limited flares made it instantly a no for me, but thats jus tme... ive been thinking about getting little flares custom made for the ARB to continue the lines onto it, but ill wait till i need to repowdercoat my bumper before i do that!

Thats a good idea but by the time I drive there and pick it up It would be worth the extra $70-$90 to drop it off. Though if someone wanted me to ship it this way I could. Ok so I know whos in line for the TJM any takers on the wheels, I'll post up soon enough in the classifieds.

thought about going custom? prado and taco arent that much stronger then tjm, but custom will be and can fit your flares perfect.

just my .02

Custom costs just as much and I don't have the time. I like the TJM but the ARB is stronger. As far as custom goes what did you have in mind. I like the clean looks of the ARB and TJM's the open look of the Bentup is cool but not enough. AllPro no go, shockworks not beefy enough not to mention the LightForces wont fit. The one in CO has to have the truck there, and I hate the front end from Irbis though the rear is badass. Maybe I should just not take off the TJM and leave as is.

yeah i forgot about those 240s you have.

Irbis makes a bumper that looks exactly like shrockworks too, just not on their site.

lost the pic but a bright red 4runner has it here in denver area.

Id do some lookin around, dont jump the gun yet, you might not be as satisfied as you think.

just my opinion

Talking I second the custom route...

Aaron,

I was in the same situation as yourself, however, I made the trip to Co Springs (600 miles) and I am glad that I did. Yeah it took awhile, however, all things considered, I would do it again in a heartbeat. The opportunity cost of paying my hard earned dollar for a 'compromise' just didn't jive with me (I'm getting to old for that). My bumper from Armorology cannot be compared to any of these bumpers...apples to oranges. From the mounting to the frame, clevis shackle points, powdercoating, etc...I chose the width of the bumper, where to put the lightforces, etc...I even sent him the shrinkwrap that I wanted for the lights. I don't think that you are going to be happy until you go custom. Remember, no matter how close it is, a square peg still cannot fit into a round hole...

Regards,

BWJ
