ARB owners, dumb question

I have to assume that the answer to this is yes, but I thought I'd put it out there. Does the ARB bullbar significantly improve the approach angle over stock (particulary for tacoma owners).

Never hurts to ask.....

Yes it does. It will also serve VERY well in an accident.

Mine is a 4Runner not a Taco...it does improve the approach angle. However, if you are mainly interested in approach angle I'd go with something else.

Like others have said, it does increase, but if you want the max appraoch angle, a tube bumper is your best bet.

Hmmmm..I suppose the tubes don't offer near the crash protection do they? The bullbar is maybe the best compromise?

I think a TJM offers a better approach angle than the ARB, no? I have seen TJMs on a Tacoma....

TJM does have a better approach, but are weaker (slightly) and are also 3-piece compared to 1-piece.

Exactly. It is a slight unfair comarison since one is 400-650 and the other 1200. I like both. It really depends on what your needs are. Maximum front protection came before max approach angle (just add more lift, LOL)

having a lighter bumper is also something to take into consideration... once you start adding lights, a winch and s/c up there... it really starts to add up.

As long as its my daily drive a super-charger seems unlikely ($2.20/gal for premium and climbing). Winch is possible I suppose. I imagine the TJM and ARB probably weigh about the same, with a tube being a lot lighter.

I'm asking about the ARB in particular because I'm trying to work a deal on a used one...

While my ARB does sit higher than my stock bumper, it sticks out about 8" MORE than stock...which to me, isn't great. Go custom

while we've got the arb crew all assembled....

has anyone had problems with rubbing on their bumpers? specifically where the fenders meet the bumper. My fenders have vibrated right through the powdercoating down to bare metal.

Custom =$$$$$ unless I learn to weld quick. Feel free to hook me up with your ARB once YOU go custom

That's okay, I wasn't looking to buy it, per se.

Aside from possible mounting differences between tacomas and 4runners....Just how hard did it get hit? I'm sure you have pics on here somewhere.

It happened on the drivers side, then I put a 1" BL on= no problem
