Why couldn't you run the 285's? Did they rub?

Here are the pictures I promised you.

Jim, yes the MTs 285/75/R16 were rubbing too much. In fact almost getting stuck on the back wheels.

Just curious, what was the difference between FJ80's and FZJ80's?

Funny you should ask. I have been reading up on the 80-series cruisers alot lately. The engine is the major difference. The FJ had the 4 liter inline 6 (3f). Basically the same engine as the generation previous to it (2f) with electronic fuel injection. The FZJ had a fuel-injected 24-valve 4.5 liter inline-6. 155 HP (FJ) vs 212 HP (FZJ). The change happened in 1993.

Kinda OT, but there's also a big debate among us w/ 80's about the engine power vs. the (so-called) stronger tranny in the earlier models vs. the better (IMHO) 1FZ vs. 3FE motor in the later years. U guys want some stock LC wheels? PM me... I've got a set.

Just picked up a set. I plan to use 285/75 BFG AT's. I am waiting on Mike at extreme to get back to me with a price for an OME lift so I can fit them.

Thought I'd add the Lexus LX450 wheels are the same measurements with a similar design. Of course they are even more expensive
