Anyone Rhino/Herculined the interior of their 3rd gen?

I have a mysterious water leak that's causing some major funk in my truck. I thought it was one of the holes in my firewall where I pushed all my accessory wires through. I used Permagum on that and water is still seeping in from somewhere and saturating my carpet. The carpet is ruined. And I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about just cutting the carpet in the front out and Herculining it. I have a pretty good idea for covering the wires and making it look presentable. And I'd retain my Husky Liners.

Does anyone have any pics of a Herculined 3rd gen interior?

Thanks!

I had a similar problem in my '80 P/U and I think it was leaking through the windshield. I put herculiner in there as a replacement for ruined carpet and it worked pretty well.

Couple things to be aware of:

It doesn't dampen noise very well - if you are driving on the road at all you will notice much more road noise coming through compared to carpet. I expected a much thicker more rubbery covering than what I got.

It doesn't like brake fluid. I had a master cylinder leaking back into the cab for a little while and it ate that stuff right up. Nice thing about herculiner is that you can patch it.

Other than that, it worked out really well. It was easy to put on and looked pretty nice until it got dirty.

Just my 2 cents. Sorry I have no pics.

Question could you put dynamat on the floor? Not solid, but peices, and cover that and the floor in herculiner for more sound dampening?

Here are a few pics of mine after I finished it. I also waterproofed my ECU and any other electronics that were low and I love it. I was constanly dealing with muddy and mildewy carpets that were hard to clean. Now when I am at the car wash I open the doors and spray away in no time it's clean.

Been wondering that too.... Will the herculiner stick to dynamat?

The dynamat thing is a good idea. I would think it would stick if you prepped it. The herculiner is pretty sticky stuff.

How good is the adhesive on dynamat? I've never messed with it. You'd want to make sure that the mat wouldn't come unstuck after you herculined it.

I like the diamond plate inserts there cubuff4runner, that rocks! How many coats of liner is that? Mine didn't look that thick.

If I remember correctly it was two coats. It's been a while.

Dynamat has an incredible adhesive. It basically can't be removed.

Stolen from Dynamat's website (from the tech article on Dynamat Extreme):
Adhesive Peel Strength (Bond strength):
42.6 lbs/inch (74.8N/cm) on cold steel

And I have to ask, why are the diamond plate floor mats raised off the floor?!
