Anybody know of a way to disable ABS on 2wd?
I am wondering if anybody knows of a switch or something you can install to turn off the ABS when in 2wd. Let me explain why. On my 2001 4Runner, when it is icy out, when the rear wheels start slipping, the ABS engages and I think the power is cut off to the rear wheels. Anyhow, I know you can turn it off with the button on the left under the steering wheel when in 4wd but cannot seem to find a way to turn it off in when in 2wd. It is VERY DANGEROUS. If you're making a left hand turn from a patch of ice, and you get about 3 or 4 feet into oncomming traffic, you can see how dangerous it is your ABS enganges and your tires won't spin! You're gonna get T-Boned! Don't know why they did it...Please don't tell me to engage 4wd. Generally don't need it, just want to figure out some sort of mod. Any input helps. Thanks!

the traction control computer uses the abs to stop the spinning wheel. I think there is a mod that disables the traction control and stability control but you have to stop and restart the engine to turn it back on.
