The big question is who to use? This thing would be going from Cali to Virginia. DHL, FedEx, UPS? Anyone done this recently?? Thanks.

 

UPS is great and i haven't had any problems with them at all

How much did UPS charge? I am having it shipped to me so I don't know dimensions and weights and stuff. I figure that info is important for the shippers. Any help is appreciated.

 

I just shipped TWO ARB bumpers. Visit your local Forward Air depot, they can ship across the country for around $65-$80. You'll need to pallet the item, and pay ONLY with a money order or cashier's check. IM me if you need more info.

 

try DHL. I shipped running boards for around $35-40 and a rear bumper off a 3rd gen for $50

 

Believe it or not, I've heard that the most reasonable is Greyhound. Yes, the bus line. They'll put it on one of their busses and ship it for a very reasonable rate. It's worth looking into.

Sweet ideas y'all. Keep 'em comin'! Go Greyhound, ha! That doesn't surprise me tho. I wonder why WalMart doesn't do shipping honestly. How many trucks do they have on the road?? Shhhhhh, big brother may be listening.

 

Fed EX is 35% cheaper than UPS.

 

If you ship it common carrier(UPS,Fed-Ex,DHL)make sure you double box it and pack very well because they will screw it up.With them just make sure it's packed well enough so that you can stack something very heavy on it and not get damaged and it should(notice I said should)be fine.

 

I have never had a problem with DHL. Wrap it in bubble wrap very well. Add insurance and you will have it in 5-7 days. Never a problem with my packages.

 

I will also say from experience, insurance doesn't really help with UPS. I've had a problem a few times with items getting broken and they NEVER, never pay the claim. They will say it wasn't packed right, not matter how perfect it was packed. The shame is - I asked our UPS driver about claims, and he said just about all ups claims go unpaid.

 

I have never had an issue with a claim. I should say that I do have an account with DHL, but I doubt that I get better service for this reason. Overall I have VERY impressed with their customer service and timely deliveries.

 

I bought my ARB here on this board 3 yrs ago and had it shipped greyhound from Cali to Dallas, TX. and I think it was $60 for the shipping. I shipped a ConFerr rack Forward Air and it was kind of a hassle as you have to go to their freight hub, and the guy almost cherged me the total weight, pallet and all. Price went from $75 or so to $160 before the supervisor caought it and charged me the $75 for the shipping weight minus pallet.

Greyhound, you just go to the bus station. super easy.
