what are the cladding changes? we want an SR5 (or base) that looks like the limited (flares the same color) . . . they were calling in at AP (appearance) package. is that changing now?

The only change was the deletion of the non painted cladding. All vehicles from may 03 will include the the appearance package which has the painted cladding (not grey). This change is already in effect and you should see them on the road/showroom.

No changes for the 04.

The plastic cladding is great for offroad as I had a lmt Jeep and nothing but Rock chips on the wheel fenders, it did not have the plastic cladding. Since it is gone now (thank god). I use my Suv 's for practicality not just to look pretty, as they are only new in the show room. So I like the cladding, sucks they don't offer that pkg as an offroad grp or something like that.
Oh well I guess I'll have to take the 03 then.
Thanks alot guys for your input.

Regarding the talk about spacers for the '03...is this a misprint

1996-2003 4 Runner 2/4WD 2-1/2" 2-1/2" Front Coil Spacers (pr) and Rear Coil Spacers (pr) $299.95

this is from: http://www.suspension-components.com/Toyota.htm

I dont know what brand they are though

YES I"m sure it's a BIG MISPRINT.

The 03 4runner's suspension is different from the 3rd gen 4runners.

SO DON"T BUY THEM!

Nobody has any for sale yet. Daystar is ahead of everyone as "Lefty" has the test production on his 4runner. That's the only one I know of one the road.

Everyone should have something soon though... Expect lift kits to roll out by summer or fall.

They won't even have the grey cladding on the entry models? I rather prefer it, 'specially for leaving the streets. Of course, I also like on the streets 'cuz they show less proof of drafting behind 18 wheelers (paint chips)

Ah, well....I guess I'll just stay in the Taco 'til people start selling their 03's
