Any ideas as to why my front ends sagged?

Hey guys, Ive just been out and checked the measurment from fender to rim and my truck has sagged down to 13.5 inches. I cranked em up to 14inches about a year ago, they are stock torsion bars, so any ideas as to why i got sag and will I be ok to just to crank em back up again or am I going to be looking for a new set of bars i.e. SAW's?

Cheers

Luke

That is weird Luke, you don't have anything heavy up there either do you?
While you could try the SAW 25mm bars like I have, I'm afraid they would be too rough for you, unless you put on an ARB at the same time.

Hey, double mod

They might have just settled over the time naturally, but my stock ones never did, and they were cranked up for a few years before I put the ARB on.

I'd try cranking them up again, then get it aligned right away.
Or have an alignment shop crank them so they are even at 14", and then re-align it.
They will most likely also measure from the ground to your frame in front to also make sure it is even on both sides.
They did that to mine after I went back a week later to let he SAW's settle in a bit.

Thanks for the reply Corey, I think you are right that Im gonna let a tyre dealer do it. I think its strange that they have settled and am wondering if they have just worn out? Can you get aftermarket bars that are not as rough as the SAWs? I wonder what a pair of OEM's would cost? (probably loads)

Hey I was looking in my Performance products catalog (thx Joey) and they do a set for my runner for $99 + shipping. That seems cheap?

I guess Ill have mine re-cranked for now and see what happens

Cheers

Luke

Off to tire dealer now to have my BFG's fitted, I will do a posting later with pictures for sure

Lookin' forward to the pics of the tires Luke.

The T bars in Perf's catalog are indeed the same ones I have.
Yes, $99 is a deal. I asked how they sell them so cheap, and his answer was they also deal with SAW for their Porsche side of their business, and they get a great deal on the bars.

I'd have the tire place look at yours for signs of stress. If you do put an ARB up there one day, then you would want the SAW 25mm bars.
I think the factory ones are 22 or 23mm, and there is nothing out there in between them and the SAW's.
The Rancho's that some run are 26mm. Too stiff IMO.
