I am thinking of doing it myself, but I need quite a few things (jackstand, torque wrench, spring compressor) just to do the front. Is the rear strut installation easier?

Dunno anything about the rear - sorry, got leafs in the back of mine.

Come to think of it, it might be mutually beneficial if we got ours done at the same time! I have to redo my front end and if you get the compressor, I can bring my tools over and we can get this done at the same time. Whereabouts are you in SD? I'm near the 56/Black Mtn. Road exit.

I don't have a floorjack though...

I am near Hwy5/805 merge in Sorrento valley. I can contact Autozone and see about the spring compressors

Very cool! Looks like we might be able to help each other out
Do you have all your supplies already? I will be out of town this weekend (sister's birthday) but if you'd like I can set up some time next week... just let me know when you have time!

Are those the exact same Bils that shox.com sells since it was my understanding that the TRD Bils are softer than the others you can buy?

I actually called Cabe and the guy on the phone quoted me $69.95 a pair for a 3rd gen Runner. That's a awesome price for those shocks.

Tacoma -dude, what about next weekend, I working all week. I will try to get some jack stands too.

X-awd the cat# BE5-2450-HO (front) 2451-HO (back) is what I got from Cabe. I think they are the same you are looking at. TRD bils might be softer but might only have been made for Tacomas (not sure of this though)

Carsten,

I don't really know for sure at this moment if I'll be free on the 11th. I'll try to keep it open though. We can figure out the details as we get closer

yeah... my 3rd is leaking. Should be a simple fix though. Just need to get a new seal, I think.
