The info you're giving me is great. The stud is the one on the rear of the manifold near the firewall and FPR unit. I just have to get a longer drill bit so I can clear the top & sides of the SC. I don't want to remove the SC since its already on there snug and tight or risk getting metal filings in the engine. Will try to pick one up and let you know how it goes. Got another suggestion to go along with this: use WD-40 or penetrating oil on the stud to losen it up before you try to turn it.

find the smallest easyout you can find. the kit that i have came in 4 sizes, but even the smallest one is too big for most jobs.
zach - you can probably get that front one out keeping the s/c on. but remember, you will be taking it off for the fuel mods anyway, so you might just want to use vice grips on the little piece sticking out still. their not in there too tight.
RW - i don't see how you can get to that back one without climbing into the engine compartment . . . . hope you're not a big guy! you may have to take the s/c off and then tape up the manifold holes. shouldn't take more than an hour to do, and may save you from certain frustration.
the other point is that neither one of those attachment points is necessary. i was running the s/c with BOTH of those points unattached (the tabs on the s/c broke when i tried intalling an aftermarket teflon gasket that was too think and too soft) and it held vacuum and pressure. but i understand that it would feel better to have the thing on there correctly.
good luck guys -
