Hi all. I'm new to this forum.

Just bought a '97 4Runner Ltd. and couldn't be happier, but it didn't come with a remote. So, I bought a remote on e-bay, searched this forum for programing instructions and give it a try. No luck. the indicator light does not turn on and stay on after ther green button is held down as per the insrtuctions. Instead it comes on for 2-3 Secs. then flashes a few times and that's it.

The remote I bought is dark grey, but the FCC numbers are correct BAB237131-022

Any advise?

you bought the wrong one, as it clearly says in the write up. you need to buy the black remote.

When I ordered the remote I specifically asked for the black one. The dark (very) grey one arrived in the mail this morning and the FCC#s are correct.

I'm already trying to contact the seller, but my previous experience with purchases on e-bay are not good, so I'm not hopeful.
