This is kind of hard to explain but on my automatic '93 sr5 pickup there is a rattle of some sort coming from what seems to be under the automatic transmission shifter (the lever you pull to put it in drive..haha). It happens when you give it gas around probly 15-25 mph. It seems like sumthing is vibrating underneath it maybe in the tranny itself or just sumthing loose underneath the cowling of the selector. Anyone had this problem or heard of it? Would really like to get it fixed as it is very annoying. Its not too loud but loud enough that I know its there. Thanks for the help.

 

Does it do it when pressure is applied to the cover, holding the shifter, more so on bumps? I would start by taking off the cover and grabbing parts looking for anything loose or broken. Also try this, go underneith and try and tighten up the upper trans bolts where it mounts to the body. Maybe they vibed loose.
