Amsoil or others

I will be changing my diffs and transfer case soon and was wondering if I should use Amsoil or another synthetic. Amsoil is more expensive than say Mobil or valvoline. I there any advantage to use Amsoil? Or will my 10 year old baby be happy with anything?

You may want to double check what your transfer case needs. I think that vintage used ATF in the transfer case, well at least the ones with the auto, instead of gear lube like mine does.

Everyone has their favorite, but after doing lots of reading a few years ago, I went with Amsoil.

Plus my brother in-law has been using it for 20 years or so in all of their Toyotas, and has nothing but praise for it.

I run it in the engine, transfer case, auto transmission, and the diffs.

Gadget has some "oil bible" on his website you can download too that has some info on synthetics in it.

PS, yes, the auto tranny in the 2nd gens requires you to use ATF in the transfer case.
