Am I going crazy?...brake problem

So just about a month ago I ordered and installed new front pads (Akebono ProACT) and rotors(Brembo) on my 99 4Runner. I bedded them EXACTLY how the instructions told me and I have just recently started to use them a bit harder but already I feel like the rotors are starting to warp. I am starting to feel a little shimmy in my brake pedal as I apply pressure to stop...am I going crazy or can brakes really warp that fast?

When you installed the rotors did you clean the mounting surfaces with a wire brush or similar? Quite often rust or something will give the rotor a little excessive runout and then you get vibrations. You should also switch the front and rear tires and drive for a while to make sure that the tires aren't giving you vibration. The other main problem is that for every 20 seconds of brake use it takes about 2 minutes to dissipate the heat, according to my textbook, and mfgs are making rotors more light weight which means getting rid of more metal and that only adds to the problem. It could also indicate that your rear brakes aren't working as well as they should be which causes your fronts to wear out faster due to the increased workload. Seized or very stiff automatic adjusters on drum brakes are usually the culprit but not always. I've worked on a few vehicles at school with that very same problem. I hope its something as easy as that!
