Question All-Phase Skid plate question

Greetings I am trying to put on the All-Phaze transmission skid plate and am having a heck of a time.

The plate is a bolt on product. It came with templates for drilling holes in to the frame. Problem is -- How do you get a drill into the area to drill???

The passenger side holes are basically out of line of sight, due to the exhaust, and the drivers side holes are not much better, mainly due to space.

I cant drill from the outside in, the sliders are in the way. I have looked at air powered right angle drills and not sure that this idea will work, due to the amount of metal to drill through (both sides of frame rails.)

Taking the exhaust off is not going to happen, it really only solves one side of the problem.

Anyone else running this skid plate and what tricks did you use.
thanks

I will try to get pictures in the next few days.

This one attaches from inside the frame. Fits right up in between the frame rails and is bolted through the rails. There are two bolts that pass up through the trans crossmember, to hold the front of the skid plate, the other 4 bolts are on a horizontal

The good news is that the frame is pretty thin. You may need to use a right angle drill and may also need to cut a drill bit off to make it short enough to fit.

Sounds like they made it a lot harder than it needed to be. Can't figure out a good reason why anyone would design a skid to mount like that with horizontal bolts.

The same reason the company is out of business

To be fair, don't the bolts for Budbuilt's added X member for a 3rd gen 4Runner or 1st gen Tacoma go through the frame horizontally?

That could be with the Tacos, but the 4runner already has the x member there from the factory so the Bud gets bolted to it with vertical carriage bolts.
