Last month I installed Downey coils with the spacer, and also adjusted the torsion bars to 14.5. Today I went down to get an alignment and the clerk/tech said that they cannot do an alignment on lifted trucks and referred me to 4wheel parts. I had problems with them in the past and would rather not go there again. The rear is lifted 3" and the front maybe 1/2" is there no other place that could get the job done, right now I am residing in the San Jose for school. Ohh almost forgot I went to "Firestone"
The clerk stated that they needed a special software for the lift on my truck. I told him that I only added 3" in the rear and the front is nearly stock height, he still refused. Any help??

 

I hate moronic shops like that.
Your rig can be aligned, I have the Downey HDs out back and SAW T bars up front cranked to 15".

Les Schwab is the only tire shop and alignment place I will deal with.
They had no problems doing mine the first time I had the coils put on, and the 2nd time when I switched to the bigger SAW T bars.

 

Thanks Corey. Yeah Im in San Jose CA, The nearest Les Schwab is pretty far, almost 100 miles away. Oh well I guess I start looking in the yellow pages. What should I ask? Should I tell them straight up that I have coils and a spacer, do you think that would scare them off? I'll just find out tommorow.

 

Just let them know that the front end of your truck is in fact stock. They saw the height of your rear, looked underneath, and saw aftermarket stuff. Due to liability a lot of shops won't touch modified suspensions thanks to their insurance companies. Just tell them that the springs in the rear are actually stock replacements since your truck sagged. They shouldn't question that at all.

What amazes me is that a lot of these shops will sell oversize tires/wheels but won't allign your truck because of better aftermarket parts?
