Question AIR LIFT vs. shock inside rear coils?

Anyone have any comments regarding placing an air lift unit inside a rear coil in a 4runner. It was an idea given to me to eliminate the rear sag while still keeping the stock coils. The advantage as I understand it is you can adjust the air pressure in the unit to inflate and deflate depending on the trucks needs and application...under heavy loads and towing inflate to level, deflate if not needed...all adjustable.

I am going to bet if you just stick with the stock rear springs after a week or so you will kick urself in the butt and wish you added new rear springs I did . Honestly if I was to do it all over again I would of gone with the TRD setup up front and OME rear springs which I have in there now. I also added air-Lift springs to my rears due to hauling my motorcycle on my motor-tote unit and its worked out great now, thats the only time I actually put alot of air pressure into teh airbags. old thread...

thanks for that, there are air bags and then i saw there is an air "shock" like unit that goes inside the coil. It is made by air ride. One feedback on this unit would be appreciated. I take it your air bag supplimented your coil revtek and shock set up right?

Actually I replaced the spacer setup from Revtek with a OME 891 Spring in the rear which leveled it right up if not gave it a slight rake to the front. The air bag was add just to help keep the 4Runenr level when I added the Moto-tote to carry my motorcycle on the rear 400lbs of dead weight makes teh front end point up , other than that the set up was fine before for normal stuff and even while pulling a trailer as long as teh weight was spread out more.
