Air Filter

Hey,
I am having a total brain fart while sitting at my desk, so bear with me.

I got my oil changed this morning and the kid took out my air filter (Amsoil) and was impressed with it and he placed it back in. I am wondering if he reinstalled it correctly or not.

Does the this foam side of the filter face the front of the vehicle?

Its Monday and I still have a tryptophan (sp?) hangover.

Thanks.

I believe the metal grate part of the filter is towards the rear of the engine....but I'm sure a 3.4L'er will confirm soon.

The oil change guy did it right, mesh screen to the back of the filter housing.

Thanks guys.

It was one of those things that I started thinking about and I knew this would be the best place to get a quick correct answer.
