air conditioner is not as cold as it should be

air conditioner is not as cold as it should be

... getting cool air... but not cold. Anybody know what the problem might be?

Put a can of r143 in it. If that doesn't help, then you have a problem.

i just had to recharge the wifes' 01, i purchased a can of r134 with a gauge for $28

it worked well and does not take much skill to do.

it was much less than the 200+ to check the system by a retailer

the gauge and instructions with the can of refrigerant will help you do a touch of troubleshooting as well. THough I suppose its a bit of risk. If you have a slow leak that has resulted in loss of coolant over a long period of time - the home-refrigerant kit should work well. However if you've got a large leak or component failure, you may end up having wasted your 30$.
