While adjusting transmission cable, I noticed a gurgling noise coming from the air box, maybe from the bottom. Has anyone else heard this? Thanks, Bill

 

My 89 truck, 22re has a gurgle in the air box just off of idle. I noticed it a few weeks ago...nothing to worry about I assume. I can also hear one of the vacuum switching valves on top of the valve cover clicking in conjuntion with the gurgle. It goes away when the motor returns to idle speed or I rev it up a bit.

 

Thanks for the reply, mine gurgles while idling, if I raise the throttle, engine noise seems to downed it out or maybe just my old ears!! I don't recall hearing it prior to replacing engine. Almost sounds like water being moved around by the air coming in. Maybe one of these days I'll take it apart and see what I can find. Maybe someone else here may help us both. Regards, Bill
