Aftermarket Headlights

I need new headlights, mine are all busted in the mounting buckets. I have heard that aftermarket ones suck. Does anyone have pictures of what kind of beam pattern they throw? I would like 99+ headlights but will settle for my same '98 ones. Real hard to find OEM ones that aren't broken too or too expensive.

Dude, I have a '98 4Runner and I upgraded to the 99+ style the aftermarket route... I was totally disappointed. They look good during the day, but the beam pattern was horrible. When I say that I really mean it. That is what pushed me into throwing some HID projectors into them. Aftermarket sidemarkers and such are fine, but for your headlights I'd stick with OEM. Sorry, no pictures though.

I got mine off of ebay, and they are eagle eyes, and they make pretty good stuff (like the LED tail lights for 3rd gens). If you are patient you can find some OEM stuff for cheap. I bought a replacement '99 OEM housing for $30 off ebay. So if you look and are patient, you can find 'em cheap.

Cool, appreciate it. I am going to try and see if I can find OEM if not, I will try aftermarket but avoid Eagle Eyes. Eagle Eyes is waht I normally see around here as aftermarket.

I upgraded my 98 to 99 headlights and was fortunate enough to find 2 but it took me like 4 months. Where I made out was finding them with broken buckets, the attachment points where the buckets bolt to the truck, well there are long fingers that bolt to the framing near the radiator support posts, these were the points that were broken so the yard discounted them considerable, I ended getting both of my headlights (seperately though) around $65. I sold one of my 98 OEM lamps for $35 plus shipping to another Yota techer whose buddy needed one. I still have the remaining lamp and would sell it for the same price. I will be leaving for Kings Bay on 30 sep so if you want it let me know.

i went aftermarket when i first made my switch, and they were good, so i was happy. beam pattern seemed just fine to me. my mom had an 00, and right before she sold it i switched the lights so i could have the oem ones, and the beam pattern was worse actually. i know its hit or miss when buying aftermarket, so gl with that. OR you could just do hid's and not worry
