Advice on 3.0 rebuild or what?
alright folks here's the deal I've had my 91 3.0 4runner for around a year or so. I've been on here and I've done what I can to it. Now here's what I'm wanting to ask. When I bought the truck it had 230,000 miles on it and is now coming up on 245. I want it to run really well, but I don't have a ton of skills. What should I do? I thought about shipping off the injectors and having them cleaned and I read that if I'm running rich a new cold start injector might be the problem, but what would you do if you bought a 4runner with this many miles to insure the engine and truck as a whole were running the best they possibly can? Thanks

new air filter, change the oil with new filter, new fuel filter, get you rinjectors cleaned, clean your throttle body (be sure to take off your tps to make sure you don't screw it up), do the full seafoam treatment before you change your oil or send off your injectors, or your fuel filter,

I don't completely agree with removing your tps during t-body cleaning. The tps is very hard to adjust properly. If you are carefull not to get any chemicals on it, you'll be ok. I've cleaned my t-body many times without removing the tps. Just keep all the chemicals inside the t-body.
Getting your injectors cleaned is a good idea. While you are at it, you'll be shocked at the sight of the inside of your intake and plenum. They will need to be cleaned as well. Might want to look into new cap, rotor, and wires. I recommend OEM for all ignition components. And how 'bout a tranny flush while your at it?

I wanted to do a tranny flush, but I don't know where to go. The stealership here will rape you on the price.....They are dirty when it comes to doing anything on your truck. At the same time I'm so anal about my truck that I don't know if I could had it over to someone else
