Ack... *rant*

I think I may just stop driving the runner, it just costs too much dang money....

so here are a couple things I'm pissed about....

after getting my idler arm replaced like 4 months ago, I noticed a few days ago that my MTR's were wearing really bad in the front.... took the runner to the tire shop, and it was way out of alignment because I "trashed" the idler arm... they're replacing it for free because it's still under warrenty, but I still have to pay labor for the alignment and whatnot.... sucks...

then.... I've been dealing with my bad gas mileage/no power since I had the headgasket done....I can't hold 65 on the freeway without flooring it, and I'm getting like 9.5-10mpg... ANY IDEAS??? the timing is dead on, I have a new OEM O2 sensor.... what could be causing this? TPS maybe? I've thrown too much money at this thing
Any help?

Have you done a compression test after the HG replacement?

Well, you are running 33's. Are you sure about your gearing? Have you compared your performance with someone running a similar set up?

I'm sure about the gearing... I have yet to compare performance with someone else, but I have compared it with what I used to get and it sucks now...

4rnr is running 33' TSL's, which I believe are bigger and heavier than MTR's, and he drives at about 55mph, 65mph tops. You might want to PM him to compare.

In my 2nd gen with 33" BFG M/T's it was hard to keep it going 70 on the highway..flat parts were fine but any kind of uphill slope and it dropped down to about 60. The mileage was around 12ish maybe 13 on a good day and I had driven with a tailwind since I filled up last.

So...sounds like your mileage COULD be a little bit better, get your TPS checked, I had to have mine replaced and also run some injector cleaner through it and see what that does for ya. Just take it one thing at a time until you can eliminate something.

Good luck!

That's odd...my mileage went up, after the head gasket was done. I'm getting 21 mpg (measured) now, as opposed to 17-18 before (Larger Canadian gallons I'd add).
Plugs and wires?
Lighter oil?

I have a 95 with 33” BFG mud’s and I can cruise on the highway at 80 mph no problem and I get about 240 miles out of a tank of gas. I have 4.88 gears. I also have a bad O2 sensor so I could probably get better mileage.
