A340E Transmission replacement

Hi guys,
My truck- 2000 4runner 4cyl., auto, 4 x 2, sport. with the A340E that is dying. In looking for a replacement I have found several 97, 98, and 99 model a340e trannys locally. Someone mentioned that these might not work as there was some sort of change in the 2000 model a340e that will prohibit replacement from an earlier model. Can anybody confirm this?
Thanks a bunch.
Ced

I think what they are talking about is that there are multiple solenoid configurations for the A340E, and some also have a TV cable and some dont. As far as what model is interchagable, Im not sure. IMO you should either get yours rebuilt or get a JASPER(or the like), you get what you pay for.
