I have searched the threads ,but caan someone tell me if 99 5spds all have dual cats. I bought it new in 99 and from a va dealer .I was about to order a trd exhaust so I figured i would check and it appears to have two cats one small toward the engine and one big b4 the muffler.Thanks in advance for any input.I thought only the cali cars needed 2.

are you sure its not a resonator?

 

Some 99s had one cat while others had two.

All you got to do is look up under there and count them. If you are not sure what is what, post up a picture and we will help you figure it out.

Most likely if its not a cali truck for 99-00 you have a single cat. As gadget says just count the the cats before the muffler.

thanks gadget I thought only 4runners in cali got two, mine was bought new in VA go figure .

 

I bought mine in va too, it says on the sticker "CA emissions" so I have all the extra expensive stuff that you need only in CA, lol, and when that expensive stuff breaks, it sucks. I have two cats. Hahaha, it must be late, but I have two cats (pets) too.
