Question 99 "Tallest" Spring Part Number

Hey All,

I was wondering if anyone has the '99 Tallest Spring P/N?

I have searched and can't seem to find it. I also have searched TRDparts4u.com and think that I have found them, but I want to make sure.

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Sorry, don't have the part number, but why not go with some OME springs if you're looking to replace? OME springs will be cheaper and give you a little more lift. Just a suggestion.

Been going back and forth between the OME 881/906 combo with the comfort shocks, but the entire setup would be more costly than just swapping out my PP 1" lift springs with tallest 99 springs. This is because I already have a relatively new set of Bilsteins on the front to match the older ones in the rear. The PP springs with billies are just too harsh for me. I need something that can handle the SoCal roads (pretty much suck).

not completely sure about these numbers but you might like to check with a dealer:
Front RH: 48131-35400
Front LH: 48131-35350
Rear RH/LH: 48231-35200

If you go with OME coils you don't have to change the shocks. I'm running stock length Bilsteins all around. That is with Tundra TRD coils in front and OME 891s in back.

Looking those up on trdparts4u:

Front RH: 48131-35400 - Is confusing because it says 2 applications, 1 is 1999-2002, and the other is 1996-1998 in mechanical catalog, 1 application in collision (1999-2000), and 1 is OEM (no years)

Front LH: 48131-35350 - Looks right, only one entry in Collision and OEM (1999-2000)

Rear RH/LH: 48231-35200 - This one is for non 16" wheels. The way I understand it is that the tallest have 16" wheels.

Any comments / suggestins?

Thanks to everyone in advance!

If the ride is too harsh, it's more likely your shocks than your springs. Your best bet is to go with the OME comfort shocks.

BTW, have you looked into the OEM pricing? I remember I was going to get OEM rear leafs from the local dealership and they quoted me $550. EACH!!!

EDIT: Looks like they're ~$90 on trdparts4u. Not as bad as I thought. The OME springs are actually a little cheaper than that, though.

Yeah, the trdparts4u.com (Toyota of Dallas) has them for much less than all other dealers I have tried. Lots of members have vouched for Gerone over there and their great service. if the ones I was looking at were the right ones, I could be out of there shipped at ~350 I think.

on 48131-35400, the EPC says it's for July 1998 to Aug 1999

on 48231-35200, the EPC says it's for July 1998 to Aug 1999 SR5V, SR5B RZN185/VZN185

there's 48231-35210 which is for also for the same time and says RZN185/VZN185 with 265/7016 tires

Interesting, where are you looking at this information? Sounds like its very helpful! The 35210 looks right. Can anyone who's ordered these confirm by any chance?

Thanks,
Mark

Hey Batsoff,

Thanks for the part numbers. 2 of the 3 match what others have said, so looks close.

Quick question - Where did you order you new springs from? Where did you get the part numbers? Are you driving a 99 or something and made the switch?

Just trying to make sure I get the right parts.

Thanks,
Mark

Rear Springs 1999

I just put a set of 99 rear springs on my 98 with 16" wheels. Part # 48231-35210. Resulted in about 1" of lift over the stock 98 rear springs.

Mark... I ordered them from Sonoran Steel, check out Steve's site, lots of good info there regarding 4Runner suspensions etc...

I'm driving a 2000 SR5... my original shocks/springs were pretty worn out and these seemed like a good replacement.

I'm actually going to post the 99 rear coils in the classifieds, decided to go with 906s in the rear to give me a little extra lift.
