It doesn't seem like it in the summer, feels almost like a sauna to me. And the 3.4 is much better, more efficient and plain badass.

Haha. You have obviously never lived in the true south or a sub tropical zone. Im from TN, deep south. Your talking relative humidty 99% everyday. Remember 100% humidity is RAIN. Its the kinda humidity that when you get out of shower you never really dry off all day.

TX, at least this part in San Antonio is BONE dry compared to where I am from. So I suppose its all relative. I find TX quite enjoyable, but then again when your from the deep south..so would an oven.

San Antonio only occasionally gets what I would call even mildly humid. In terms of relative factor 70-80% is usually as high as it gets here.

SO...

FWIW, my timing belt looks great at 122k miles (original belt). Did Toyota put in the belt at 44k? I'd be leery of an aftermarket belt in there, but if it's a Toyota, I'd say take off the cover and check it, and if it looks good and the water pump isn't leaking, don't worry about it for a while. Do this at your own risk, though. And FYI, the 3.4L is a non-interference motor.
