Hey guys, I did some searching and it looks like I should be OK putting 265/75/16's on a stock 99 4runner limited. I just thought I would float it out there to get your thoughts. The reason I want to avoid the 265/70/16's is because they are more expensive.

265/75 r16's will be fine. I run 'em on my 99.

Same here. 265/75 MTR's.

 

They will fit just fine and look better on the truck. But you truck will not be as fast on take off. And I would recommend getting “P” tires instead of “LT” if possible.
“P” has less rolling resistance than “LT”.

 

Take alook on my signature for pics of 265/75/16s with OME and BL lift. I plan on getting 285's as soon as I recieve Land Cruiser wheels. BTW, I had the 265's on completely stock set up with no issues. Good luck!

FYI... I replaced my 265/70/16's with 75's about 16 months ago on my '00. Now my speedometer is dead on. It was off by about 2 mph @ 60 mph before the change. But the 75's are usually a tad MORE expensive than the 70's in my neck of the woods...

I got 'em too and in the case of the Nittos the smaller size cost more too.

 

Right now I'm looking at a set of Toyo 265/70/16's for $120 a piece. That seems like a damn good price.

 

There's a thread arounbd here that had the 265/75/16 Nittos for just over $100 a tire and free shipping so even if you pay a shop to mount and balance you'll still cruise in around $500. I went to my local Discount tire and paid $690 out the door with the road hazard certificates plus I like the free rotations every 4000 miles plus it's nice dealing with a local place if you have problems but the $101 a tire deal is the best I've seen on the Nittos.

 

I was wondering if 265/75/r16 would fit on 99 runner( stock susp.). I got a good deal on some Bridgestone Dueler A/T revo's $209 instaled & balanced, tax in.(each) They were regular $329 a piece. They are going on tomorrow. Il let you guys know if theres rubbing. (Those prices are Can.)

You should be fine, I have 265/70/16 Revos and could easily fit something bigger.

 

Any problems with rubbing with the 265/75 r16's? I have a 2WD and the Sport Edition cladding. And down here the 75's are cheaper for some reason.

the 32s are cheaper in LA too. at least that was my experience when calling around a few years ago. but only by a few bucks. one place said that 31s are actually a non-standard tire size. not sure if this was true or just sales guy talk.

They told me when I put my 265/75/16s on that it was cheaper because 70 series was more of an odd ball tire size and was harder to find.

 

That was the same information I was given.
