99 4runner Rack n Pinion replacement options needed

Hey everyone,
the rack on my 99 4wd 4runner needs to be replaced so are there any cheaper options than the $600 OEM new option
that are reliable.
Yes, i am aware that most rebuilt racks are junk, but i'm wondering if any other brands have a decent product.
thanks!

I did NOT have luck with A1Cardone.
Went Toyota the second time around.

McGeorge had 'em for 553 shipped to me in MO. Maybe they're closer to you- or try searching for a Toyota Parts Group dealer near you. I've used and liked LaGrange Toyota parts too.

Whatever you do, I'd go with a set of poly bushings now instead of later. Those rubber things are disappointing- even on the Toyota rack. Would have saved me time to have just gone ahead and do it in the first place.

Hey, I'm pretty sure you already know about the new solid vs the old style roller guides and I don't know what's wrong with yours- but thought I'd mention it in case it helps.

Lol.....upon further inspection....my local dealer part might not be the full rack.
it really stinks......the shell game you have to play to buy toyota parts and not get ripped off.
infuriating !!!! 😬😬😬

Yep on the solid guide- all 3rd gen 4Runner racks are the same part number with the solid guide. Mine has 50,000 miles on it so far.
Part# 44250-35042 comes with inner tie rod ends

Hope that helps.

Best price i could come up with after endless searching is
570.00 shipped to Az. From Discount Parts Monster.
Not bad considering i cant buy this product from any Arizona dealer for less than 625.00
I hate Toyota for this business practice.
