In my quest for a No Check Engine Light 99 4runner,
I had my codes read over at Autozone. 446 came up and i know it can mean trouble with the gas vapor cannister. I found a youtube vid where a guy explains how cracks form in the cannister box.
He also explains and labels all of the inlets, outlets and solonoids in a photograph. I sprayed the box with simple green and blew into the inlet port from a vacuum hose i had in the garage. Bubbles came out of the bottom. I removed the box and sealed a 1.5 inch crack at the bottom with Shoe Goo.
Ps.....an awesome glue !!
265 miles after clearing the code and no check engine light. Fingers crossed...emissions test in a
few months!
