98 tacoma Wrecked

Last thursday I let my wife drive my tacoma no big deal beacuse that ment I got our 99 4runner. To make a long story short she pulled out infront of a car going 55mph and hit them head on!! My toyota gave its life so she could live. My wife walked away with out a scratch!! The front bumper and passanger side frame rail was pushed onto the motor, broke off all the pullys and twisted the truck so bad the passanger door would not open. I owe that truck alot. State farm paid within 5 days and I went out and bought a 01 Tundra 4x4. I will never question the tuffness of a toyota and I will never buy another brand of truck!

Glad to hear the wifey is OK. Man that sucks. Did you have a lot into the truck mod wise. I'd hate to have to start over at this point on mine.

Good to hear that your wife is okay!
Stories like this convince me to keep my truck whenever I entertain the thought of a smaller car for daily travel.

San Diego drivers are terrible!

Glad your wife is OK.

Yep, that is how I got my 4Runner.

A drunk woman without insurance or a licence T boned me.
http://www.pnw4runners.com/tando/pics0.jpg

She ran a red light as I was turning.
Saw her at the last second that she was not braking for her light and I sped up a bit.

Had I not sped up she would have plowed in through the front passenger door instead of the rear area.
She spun me around 180 degrees and knocked the driveshaft off.

I got out unhurt in anyway.
She hit me going around 40 or so.

Toys are tough, and often give up their lives for ours.

Ya that is scary for her, she's lucky.

Even though I love my 4Runner for some reason I don't think my 87 would hold up as well in a crash like that. Its pretty tinny and no airbags or anything, a lil scary to think about.

But that is crazy and sucks, but congrats on your new tundra!

Phew.

Glad to hear your wife is a.ok. I had a similar accident happen to me, spun off the highway (hydroplaned) at 60 mph slammed into a ditch after multiple spinns. My 97 Tacoma landed on the side and slowly fell back down on all four. The canoe was totaled that was in my bed, but my truck saved my life that day. I will never own another brand either. Busted 1/4 panel, dented bed and a new respect for people driving muscle cars w/ slicks in the rain.
Good to hear your wife's ok. I honestly believe my Taco along with god saved my life that day.
