Is any one still awake? I am trying to find out if and where i can get a set of low buck asian hubs for my 98 4runner. Has any one measured the mpg gain. We got a Calico ghost town run on the 4-25-08. Thanks: Dano, Hemet, Ca.

 

I retrofitted my T100 with the aisins, and I concurred with everyone else who ever commented on this conversion, NO detectable MPG improvement.

On a third gen 4Runner, you have to take lots of parts from a Taco, so its quite a job, much more than simply getting the hubs. Not worth it. The only real "benefit" is life will be easier for your CV boots, they might last longer because they're only turning when you're using 4WD.

 

Yeah you will need:

Spindles, manual hubs, cv's, and manual hub diff tube. If you have abs it just makes it more difficult.
