Help..I've searched and searched and get all kinds of results on trucks being stuck in 4wd but my problem is the opposite.

The truck was running fine in 2wd and when I pushed the button in, the shifter came out of gear and is now stuck in neutral. I can't get it to go into 4LO or back into 2HI or 4HI. The idiot light is on in the dash but I got nothing.

I've tried to all combinations to shift. Car off/on, in Park, in Neutral.....

I'm looking for clues before I have to start climbing under the thing in the melting snow. I got it home buts its 33 degrees and really wet.
