98 4runner rear springs help ?????

So ive been installing a daystar spacer lift for one of my buds.. yah I know but he went the cheap route... and the rear springs have been giving me huuuge problems... ive tried 3 different spacers from different kits and a different company for the rear springs and ALL of the spacers are too big for the springs. They look like they are the stock springs, but hes not too certain whether its had work done or not he bought it used last month. I think im going to have to machine some aluminium pucks for it, any input would be greatly appriciated (is this common, were some models built with different springs, I know 98 was kind of an odd-ball year for 4runner..)
Thanks in advance yall!

Hmm,on my 97' I replaced the stock springs with OME 906's.... those springs were a few inches shorter that the stockers, but since they are much thicker steel spring and progressive,It actually raised the truck about an inch when compared to the front, raised it up about 2 inches compared to the stock worn out rear springs, but they probably dropped an inch from stock and I had that reverse rake look...No good....I am very happy with them...My truck is not lifted at all so I have no idea how they would do with spacers? But they are phisically shorter, when you compare them out of the vehical.
