I wasn't sure where to post this, so my apologies if it's in the wrong place.

My 98 has a 3.4 and it's shuddering from about 2500-3500 rpm in every gear. It's not doing it before then, and it doesn't do it after 3500 when I'm on WOT... Is it my tranny slipping or just due for a tune up? It's got 264,000 miles on it, and I'd love to keep it going as my dd and my parents & I really can't afford a car payment. (Thank God for my *gasp* 85 S10 Blazer )

Um... I'm not sure.. Anywhere from 64,000 to 164,000 miles ago...

 

well then id say start there for sure as far as im aware one should be done at least at every 100,000 miles or so im no expert and i dont drive yet but i learn as much as i can so start there and if that dont work we will go from there

 

Check this out. Been shuddering for a while, well, I turned onto a road tonight, and lost 2nd gear and the check engine light came on. Pulled in the gf's driveway. Sat and waited for about 15 minutes, cranked it 2 times, light was off both times. I'm like "okay.... WTF?! I have a really bad day and now this thing is screwing up. Great. FML!" So I pull up and out of her driveway, and put the pedal down. It came alive with no shuddering in any of the gears. I mean it had power finally. Somebody wanna explain what the he!! is going on?

Pardon my French for the above topic, but today made me want to kill somebody. It was that bad.
