98 4runner 2.7L 3RZFE
Hey, i own a 98 4runner 2.7L 3rzfe , the engine seems to be getting a little slugish when idling, not sure if its a misfire on the spark plugs or my wires.... runs decent when driving just when it idles seems a little rough.... if anyone knows any thing i could try that would be great thanks... i do know know that one of my wires was missing a rubber piece on the inside where it hooks up to the plug?? I have the new wires ordered..

change the oil do the air filter maybe change the spark plugs, check the fuel rail for leaks, mine leaked. your timing may have jumped so a timing chain, you might need new coils. it could be alot of things

I did a swap into my '84, rebuilt the 3RZ, of course new plugs, and pulled them after 25K miles. They had pretty rounded electrodes so I replaced them. 200K on OE plugs is impressive...
OP, I would check throttle body for being gummed up. Idle air controller as well. And I have heard, not experienced, that the valves being out of adjustment can cause a rough idle.
