98 4-Runner LTD rear ABS?

I just had my rear axle bearings replaced.Since I don't have a press I had my brother in law(a toyota tech)press it apart & back together again. When I put back together if I look in the hole for the ABS sensor the reluctor ring is slightly off center(to the outside). I can see the whole ring but it is very close to the outside of the hole. Do they have to be centered for the seal to hit the right spot on the axle or am I just paranoid.

I used to work at a toyota only salvage yard in PA so fire away with any ? about parts interchanging.I still work there but not many truck/4-Runner parts & not strictly Toyota anymore,Toyotas got to expensive to buy for parts especially trucks & 4-Runners.

Thanks

best if centered but as long as a big part of the ring can be enaged by the sensor, it should be ok.

when i had mine replaced, it was not centered but it's still working.

I am more concerned about the ring being in far enough for the oil seal.

I would think the light would come on if its not working correctly. Have you had a light issue?

No light issues yet.The rear is out of the vehicle.I was lucky enough to be able to borrow a complete rear(wrong ratio & no locker) from work while I had the bearings swapped.I needed the 4-Runner on the road & my brother in law(a Toyota Tech) could only work on it between jobs. I am worried about the abs ring being pressed to far on to the axle & not going in to the oil seal far enough.
Thanks

This maybe dumb, but wouldn't BiL know, since he's a ToyoTech?
