98' 3.4 and 01' 3.4 differences

Hey guys, wondering if anyone would happen to know the differences between the 98 model 3.4 and a 01'?

Im looking for a donor motor to have rebuilt and found a 98 for basically free, but am wondering what kind of a headache it will be to drop into my 01' when the time comes.

Any help and info is Appreciated!!

The engine long block (valve covers to oil pan) is 100% the same.

The only differences are minor in wiring, and electronic related things. Easy swap!

I'd recommend you keep all the sensors and anything electronic from what ever year the ECU and engine harness are from. The injectors may be a different size, MAF may be different, O2 sensors are different, wiring...etc.

As long as he swaps all the stuff from his 01 engine onto the 98 long block, he will be fine.
