Welcome to the board Andy! There's been alot of talk bout gauges lately. I haven't seen anything from the pro car parts ones though. I got mine on ebay. I am sure one of the 3rd Gen owners on here can help ya out!

 

Check Ebay. They have the same ones for about $10 cheaper....

I saw the same ones at that site and was thinking about it. I have 1997 as well.

Mine is automatic, but I don't have the "P R N D 2 L" on the bottom of the tach though, so I need to do more homework.

Not sure if that is a "generic" picture they use, or if they really have that on the 1997 or not? Please post back with any info you find out, as will I.

I'll check Ebay at home tonight. Firewall nazis here won't let us out to check it at work... something about lost productivity or something.

I've been looking around e-bay for some reverse indi's for my 3rd Gen and I can't really find any that don't have the PRND on the tach. I'm just thinking of buyin the e-bay ones and finding a way to cover up the PRND w/ a decal or TRD logo in some way. We shall see, it seems the best I can do is just make do with what is available and make it the best I can. Let us know if you find anything promissing with procarparst.com

 

Those ARE the correct gauges for the 97. The e-bay ones are NOT. I have the procarparts set in my runner. Look very slick, worth every penny.

I have a 97 as well (see above post in this thread). Is yours automatic? Do yours match the picture presented on the website for these gauges exactly (i.e. P R N D 2 L) or not on the tach?

I just called procarparts and the told me that all the gauges they sell for the 96-98 4Runners have the PRND2L on the tach. Does anyone know where I can get the reverse indiglo gauges without this?

Ditto I want reverse indi's for a 96' w/o the dang PRND on the tach. I know there are some of you guys out there alot better at finding these things like that than I am. I have tried and tried but noting to speek of. If ANYONE can find some reverse indi's w/o that stuff of the tach let me know.

 

I haven't tried it myself, but I have heard from others on forums that the gauges with the 'P R N D L 2 3' will fit the 96's & 97's just fine. Those Auto Tranny Indicator lights simply won't light up..

I've yet to see nice gauges w/o the Auto Indicators on 'em due to the 98's having this feature (and 96/97's being considered in the same style/grouping).
