Yeah, sometimes it just isn't worth going cheap. Toyota electricals are a great example. My 3.0 starter had 245k miles under its belt when it was just starting to die. It was actually what expedited my swap timetable. The OEM stuff lasts so much longer.

Yeah, it seems like a very bad idea for not only toyotas owners but for any vehicle in general. OEM is better quality hands down. Sure, you pay more for it. But the starter that I replaced with that crappy carquest one lasted for 250k! Thats amazing!

The one thats displayed lasted...uh 8-10k miles...terrible.

Speaking of OEM parts. Is there a decent website were we toyota owners can purchase OEM parts? Just for future reference...Thanks!

I buy from here frequently. They are a Toyota dealer and have excellent online prices.

http://toyotapartscenter.net/ is where I order all my parts( great service).
You will get better shipping prices if you call instead of ordering online.
Thats where alot of these online dealerships stick you. The places with lowest prices on parts wernt always the cheapest once shipping was figured in.
