96 Runner Carpet Replacement

Hey Guys,
like it says got a 96 Runner wanting to replace the carpet. thinking im going to go with StockInteriors.com I have already ordered samples and picked out a color, going with the Ultra-Plush Cut Pile(40%) thicker, and add Mass backing. Figured when i have everything out i would layer the floor with CLD tiles, and
Vinyl/Nitrile Closed Cell Foam. for some good sound deadening. Wondering if anyone has removed the carpet or done deadening work? or a write up someone has? Also wondering how the carpet was from stock interiors?

thanks alot guys, will do a write up on it once completed!

I have recently installed Peel & Seal 6" X 25' Aluminum Roof Repair ($14.78) from Lowe's Hardware as noise suppression in my 93 4Runner. I have one of those famous noisy 3VZE motors, and the racket from the top end of the engine was driving me nuts. I installed this peel & seal to the underside of the hood, and to the firewall area under the steering wheel. Noise reduction is about 90%. Not too expensive, and worked for me. I used a full roll and 1/4 of another. I have heard complaints of tar smells from others who used similar products, but I have not experienced any smell at all. Use a plastic roller to apply it!

Vinyl flooring instead of carpet

I'm looking to replace my factory carpet with a pre-formed vinyl flooring
instead of carpet. MUCH easier to clean and MUCH more stain resistant.

Has anyone ever ordered vinyl flooring from these guys?
(They also sell carpet kits as well.... no thread hijack intended)

JBurt exactly what i was looking for, going to buy everything for deadening from either http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com or http://secondskinaudio.com/

Performance The reason i choose stock interiors is i found more positive reviews then http://www.automotiveinteriors.com/ and i think they are cheaper(plus a coupon) they also have carpet kits. like the easy clean idea for sure! having a newborn i need easy clean!

I know this thread is a little older, but how did that carpet work out? How did it fit and is it nice quality?

Sweet!

Yeah man the install took me a few hours but really wasn't that hard! Like I said I got mine from stock interiors with the mass backing on it, when I got the box it was huge and weighed prolly close to 50 pounds! I installed on a chilly november day and the carpet was still able to be modeled for curves, however I wish I would have waited till the summer would have made my install a hell of a lot easier! Also laid sound deadening material while I had the carpet up and also cleaned the floor! The only problem I encountered, is there is a drivers side plastic foot thing that comes installed on the carpet, mine was about 4 inches to left, meaning we had to cut alot of it fit under the plastic trim that goes on the floor. The fit
Was actually pretty good and the qaulity was really good, better then the stock stuff! You will have to trim it a fair amount around the edges and in the middle but a sharp razor knife should fix that! I also ordered the mass backing adds that third layer of sound deadening and also spills won't drain through the carpet to the floor with the mass backing! Overall I love it great investement!
