'96 Headlight Problem
I've had a pretty serious issue with my headlights that has been bothering me recently.
For the past few months, the beam pattern has been all screwed up, so I finally got around to adjusting them in a vain attempt to correct it. No matter what I do with the adjusters, I keep getting the same results. The driver side lamp puts out a ton of light with a decent cutoff, and the passenger light seems to dump 10 ft. in front of the truck, no matter what. I know that headlamp reflectors are generally arranged in a way to avoid glare to oncoming drivers, but this is much more severe of an issue than the reflector variation would be.
My question is, is this nature of the older 4Runner headlights? I don't have another one to compare it to, and every other vehicle I've owned has had equal and tight lighting from each lamp when adjusted properly. Is there anything else I might try to correct this? I searched a bit and couldn't find another instance of this...
