96 4runner airbox noise?

I'm looking at buying a friends truck.

96 4runner
2.7l
auto

It's making a strange warbling noise from the hose that goes into the airbox. I believe it's the charcoal canister that the hose connected to, but I could be wrong on that. I don't have the truck handy to check again.

After the vehicle is warm, it makes the noise at idle and at very low revs. It's probably slightly lower pitched then the lights warning noise, but loud enough that you can hear it clearly in the cab. A very clear, oscillating, warbly, wobbly, howly noise. and it's definitely coming from the small hose that connects into the airbox.

Any thoughts? Is that a normal noise for the 3rzfe? Too loud?

Truck drives great besides that and looks like a good buy.

thanks!

Are you sure it is what you think??

I don`t have one of those in front of me But I never heard a noise like that from any Evap system

Is there a hole in the hose?? What if you unplug the hose??

Is there a rodent in there? I kid. Are all the resonant tubes on it? Does it look like anything has been removed from the airbox or plenum tube that connects to the throttle body?

Hi, Sorry about the delay. The trucks my daily driver now.

Looks like the tubes are all there. I recorded a short video.
You can hear the noise go away when I pinch the tube.

After you turn off the vehicle, you get a buzzing that's identical to

Maybe Habanero's moo box fix (post 1097) would solve it or maybe not:

I did the moobox fix. I found a wrecked evap canister and broke off the resonator piece with some easily repairable damage. Buzz is gone, but it didn't change the warble noise.

I replaced some suspect vacuum lines and it quieted the noise down slightly, but it's still very audible when it kicks in.
